From an ancient elixir to a modern favourite, kombucha has evolved with California’s unique mix of creativity, culture and good vibes
FAQs
Kombucha is a naturally fermented tea that's been enjoyed for centuries around the world - from ancient China to modern-day California. At its heart, it’s a simple blend of tea, sugar and a live culture known as a SCOBY (that’s Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast, if you’re curious). Through fermentation, it transforms into a lightly fizzy, refreshing drink with a funky kick.
Alcoholic kombucha took off in California, when health-conscious creatives started experimenting with ways to make kombucha a little more fun. It starts with the same fermented tea base but is brewed or blended to include alcohol, usually through extended fermentation or a clean spirit like vodka.
It can - traditional kombucha is known for its tangy, slightly sour flavour, which some people call “funky.” But at Horizin, we’ve crafted our Kombucha Spritz to be a whole lot more approachable (and delicious).
We start with a high-quality sencha green tea kombucha, then blend it with juicy mango and vibrant passion fruit flavours, topped off with a clean vodka kick. The result? A drink that’s light, crisp and refreshing - with all the goodness of kombucha but none of the overpowering tang.
So if you’ve been kombucha-curious but hesitant, this is your moment. We've taken the edge off and dialled up the flavour.
Our Kombucha Spritz is best served cold, straight from the can for easy, on-the-go refreshment. Want to slow things down? Pour it over ice in a glass, add a slice of fresh fruit if you’re feeling fancy.
We’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re looking to stock Horizin on your shelves or serve it at your next event, drop us a line at hello@horizin.co.uk or DM us on Instagram @horizindrinks and we’ll get right back to you.
